Connect IT Data Systems was started in 2004 because we saw a need for IT Support and
Services for Small and Medium Business that no other provider had the ability to supply in
Northern California. As it became apparent that other providers in Northern California were
more focused on their bottom line then the best interest of their clients and they were often
proposing solutions that were either not what the clients needed or ,was even looking for,
we found that by simply listening to our clients, how their business is run and what role
technology plays in their business we are able to building a relationship with them enables
Connect IT to help them increase efficiency and reduce cost. Connect IT also places great
emphasis on industry relationships and extensive on-going training and education to remain
knowledgeable of the most current technical trends allowing our clients to leverage both
well established and emerging technologies.

Our Team
Richard Gillespie, Owner
Richard's career has shown a consistent pattern of success. While attending Heald Institute
of Technology in 1991 Richard was recruited by IBM Global Services as one of the top 3
students in his class and was offered a position on a joint project of IBM Global Services
and the State of California.
In 1993 after the completion of Richard's project with IBM he was offered a position Comtek
Computer Systems. At the time Comtek had 15 employees and was located in an HP
facility. Shortly after his hiring Richard was tasked with moving Comtek to their own facility
and build their own network. Richard completed the move and network build on schedule
and under budget, and as a result was offered the position of MIS Manager, a position
which he held for 5 years. In his 5 years Richard help Comtek grow from 15 employees to
225, constantly enhancing the IT infrastructure and making customer service his priority.
In 1998 Richard began his career in IT Consulting, working for Paladan Technical
Innovators and SAI Software Solutions. Richard's projects during these years were primarily
focused on the State of California. Richard was instrumental in the project for the California
Department of Parks and Recreation's migration from Novell Netware and GroupWise to a
Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory and Exchange infrastructure. During this time
Richard also returned to school to complete his undergraduate degree at University of
Phoenix in 2001.
Upon completion of Richard's degree he went to work for Capital Network Solutions from
2001 to 2003. During this time he was responsible for the Watchguard program and for the
development of the Managed-IT program. Richard was so well respected and successful
during his time at Capital Network Solutions that he was selected to work on the migration of
the company's internal network from a Windows 2000 Active Directory to Windows 2003
Active Directory infrastructure.
In 2004 Richard decided that he wanted to take the knowledge and skills he had acquired
during his career and open his own IT and Network consulting company. Richard started
Connect IT Data Systems with a philosophy of customer service first. During his career
Richard worked in many different types of consulting environments and realized that often
when recommendations are made they are not always made with the client's best interest at
heart. This was the driving factor behind Richard starting Connect-IT. He wanted to ensure
that customer service and client needs were always the focus and that business as usual
was not going to be tolerated.
Amy Ellis, Office Manager
Amy Ellis has lived in the Sacramento area for more than 30 years. Amy is a highly trained member of the management team of Connect IT Data Systems and has worked in the technical support field for more than 15 years. Upon completing her Associates Degree, she began her career with Connect IT Data Systems where she currently manages the day to day office. As the Office Manager, she coordinates and controls all activities in the Office effectively and efficiently which helps our team to achieve its objectives and goals to best serve our clients. Amy has consistently gone to great lengths to provide the best experience for our clients and we are proud to have her on our team.
Steven Jay, Managed Services Technician
Upon graduating with his A.A.S in Information Technology Steven began his career in Information Technology working for Connect IT Data Systems. Steven is highly motivated and has a record of going above and beyond the call of duty to help clients. Steven is Microsoft, and CompTIA Certified. Stevens' role is to monitor the Connect IT Data Systems Managed Services alert and remote monitoring system.
